Camp Info

July 15 - July 18, 2019
9:45am - 3:15pm
Ages: 11-16
Fee: $199

This course allows campers to explore the "makerspace" world of engineering, a place where students can gather to create, invent, tinker, explore and discover using a variety of tools and materials. You will be introduced to CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, laser cutters, and other hands-on equipment to create a variety of projects. Activities will focus on providing a foundation for our Next Generation Engineers (NGE), designing for manufacturing and learning essential skills and principals necessary for taking your ideas from concept to design and fabrication. Career and Technical Education prepares students for high-skill, high-wage careers that are in demand in the modern workforce. District 214 has aligned core and elective coursework, extracurricular activities, and student experiences around career pathways to help students self-identify and prepare for their post-secondary career goals. Our D214 Pathway/Programs of Study for manufacturing include Production, Fashion Construction and Production, and Manufacturing. Students learn to plan, manage and perform the processing of materials into intermediate or final products and related professional and technical support activities such as production planning and control, maintenance and manufacturing/process engineering.
